Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It's every where, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In the last month I have had one friend dodge a huge bullet and another just trying to find out if she's been hit. Do what you can, run, walk, get a mammogram, hold the hand of a woman that is sick, cook a meal for a friend or their family while they are in treatment, just listen if you can. It all matters, I promise, it all matters so very much.

Birthday

Today is my 42nd Birthday. I got golf clubs from Lucy, my almost 3 year old, and the DVD box set of Planet Earth from Marnie. We had a lovely family dinner with cake and singing. It was a nice day.

A gift

Last week was Marnie's birthday. I always struggle a little when trying to pick a gift out for her. But this year I knew exactly what to get her.

A few weeks ago we were at a dog show, you know the kind with agility exhibitions and such. There was a booth there that had these incredible portraits of dogs. The artist lives in SF so I took one of her cards and commissioned the above painting of Fitz. She did an amazing job of capturing his spirit, his Fitzness. Check the artist and her work out here.

All Good

I went to see my Oncologist yesterday. I had my PET/CT scan last week and part of this visit was to get the results of that test. The scan found nothing, no sign of any thing nefarious. That is terrific news. I also managed to get through the entire visit without loosing my lunch. All in all it was a great day.
